I am sorry to report that due to the vagaries of the mysterious internets, we only received Ian’s Valentines wishes yesterday. But oh, what wonderful wishes they were!
First, the Bird of Paradise with its heart-shaped tail, grasping a heart (my heart?) in its talons:
And second, the AWESOME Frigatebird, with its weird heart-shaped gular pouch (a stretchy part of featherless skin on the throat of some birds). (I didn’t know that already, I had to look it up).
THANK YOU for this FANTASTIC Valentine, Ian! I cannot tell you how much I love love LOVE it. Not only did I get a great Valentine with some great drawings in it, but I learned some cool things about birds!
