Alright! There were many of you (and us) who were cracking under the pressure of rapid (or no) output. And so, by request, we are changing up our blog activity to have a MONTHLY theme instead of a WEEKLY theme.
And so…
This month’s theme is:
DESERTS!
This is a drawing I did for the band Bombadil for their album Tarpits and Canyonlands. (Of course, it’s more about pyramids than it is about deserts, but that’s what I happened to have on hand (it’s actually for a song called “Pyramid“)).
We chose the theme “Desert” (and not “Dessert”) because this year, for the first time, we will be spending our Christmas in the desert! I know, it just doesn’t seem right, but there you go. No White Christmas for us. But we’re excited because we think (hope) we’ll have lots of cool photos to share with you guys.
So here’s what’s going to happen:
Over the month of December, we will be posting interesting facts, photos, videos, drawings, stories, etc we find about the desert, here and on the Bobbledy Books Facebook page. (If you haven’t already followed/liked us over there, PLEASE DO).
AND WE INVITE YOU TO DO THE SAME.
Keep deserts in the back of your mind this month, and if you find yourself with some free time, draw some desert stuff (scorpions! lizards! cacti! oh my!) or write a story about a desert (A Sandstorm in Sonoma! My Trip to the Sahara!A Tumbleweed Named Fred! ) or just post a link or a picture if you find anything interesting.
And to start things off, here’s the interesting factoid I found:
Some deserts are so hot that when it rains, the water evaporates in the air before ever hitting the ground.
Alright everyone, we’re looking forward to hearing about DESERTS from all of you!
