Baby August is growing up, doing things that big kids do. For example, he now eats at the table instead of sitting in his high chair. He eats with a spoon instead of using his fingers.

Though fingers still come into play from time to time.

Most of the time he chews with his mouth full. But that doesn’t stop him from generously sharing details about the contents of his meal.

Generosity is a major theme for August, especially at mealtime. After he’s had his fill…

…he pokes about in search of other hungry accomplices. They’re never hard to find.

August’s general mantra seems to be “One for me…”

“…and one for you.”

We’re so pleased by his native altruism that we don’t have the heart to tell him that dogs don’t use spoons. Or eat honey nut cheerios.

But there’s time for these fine points down the line. For now, we’re glad to see him growing into a happy little man.

Even if it means having to wash the spoons a little more thoroughly than we otherwise might.
