A few months ago, we had an event at our college reunion up in Massachusetts. We read a few of our books for kids.
And when we were done, we asked the kids if they wanted to try making some books of their own. First we showed them how to actually put books together, and then we handed them markers and told them to get going.
They didn’t need much encouragement.
The room buzzed with the sound of kids folding, stapling, writing and drawing.
We couldn’t believe how into it they were.
We thought the event would last for 45 minutes or so. But three hours later, kids were still there making books.
Amazing books.
And having a great time.
The kids were proud of their work. And rightly so.
We make books because we enjoy it so much. A big part of what we hope to do with Bobbledy is to encourage kids to make their own and to have a forum to share their stories and drawings with one another.
Tomorrow morning, we’re going to post the first Bobbledy drawing prompt, so check in for your first assignment.
Better get your paper and crayons ready. Or your markers or paints. Or your scissors and glitter and glue. It doesn’t matter to us. We just want to see what you come up with.

Wow, what a fantastic experience this must have been!
