Last week, we asked kids to draw pictures of themselves playing their favorite games.
Here’s a drawing from Joe, whose favorite game is Connect Four.
Joe’s mom tells us that, “Joe likes to play the game and he often wins (although he does lose sometimes, and ends up crying like the person on the other side of the drawing.)”
Spencer sent a picture of himself playing Wreck It Ralph. When asked by his mom, Spencer told her “I like Wreck-It Ralph because he falls off the building – but it’s pretend so it’s ok. Fix-It Felix gives people pie, and I LOVE pie [insert slurping noise].”
And here is Tyler’s drawing of Bad Piggies.
When his mom asked Tyler why likes Bad Piggy so much, he said, “Because I like it! It’s just funny!”
Here is a drawing from Alden, who often responds to prompts with non sequitur,
Alden is the character in the middle. In her dream she was trapped inside two legs (the long, vertical figures in the upper right). In order to escape, she drew windows in the legs so that she could get out. Once she got free, she followed the path (dotted line) to her house (the long vertical on the left).
She did this drawing on the back of a piece of wrapping paper right after Baby August’s birthday party last night.
As for Tilly, her favorite game is ping pong. And the person she most likes to play ping pong with is Citi, who is more than 80 years old but who is so good at ping pong that sometimes she beats Tilly (who is also good at ping pong).
In addition to being very good at ping pong, Citi lives in a house full of cool old stuff and takes classes at Washington College. Citi is just the kind of lady Tilly wants to be when she grows up and gets old.
And here is Robbi’s drawing. She says:
My favorite game is called MONSTERRRRRR!!!! The way to play this game is to put your hands up in the air and chase Alden and Kato around yelling “MONSTERRRRRR!!!” You have to lift your feet up really high and stomp for the maximum monster factor. This game has the added benefit of not having to brush my hair all day long so I can get the right monster-like look.
As I’ve already told you, I love to bowl.
I love it a lot.
