I am happy to share the latest Bobbledy Birthday card with you, this one from Otto, who lives in San Francisco.
I like Otto’s decision to focus on the lizards’ destination and not their mode of conveyance, and I love that the road seems to be flanked on either side by treacherous cliffs. I wonder what’s inside that house on the horizon. And I want to know what’s happening in the attic, behind that round window. Is that ice on the road? And are those storm clouds in the sky?
So many questions. And where did they come from?
We sent a prompt.
Otto drew a picture.
I look at the picture and my mind fills up with questions.
I’m enjoying this conversation with Otto, even though we’ve never met.
That’s the wonderful thing about writing and art.
Thanks for sending us your drawing, Otto. We can’t wait to see your finished copy of Gorillas in the Kitchen.
And happy birthday from all of us at Bobbledy Books!
Ok, to be fair, there’s just two of us. But when Robbi wears the chicken hat, we feel like an “all.”
