I am pleased to share the following with you. I am pleased for several reasons.
First of all, a little girl has had a birthday, which is always a reason for celebration. This must certainly remain at the forefront of our minds. But what I’m about to show you so utterly eclipses mere birthday tidings that it almost deserves its own post. So let’s get the birthday part out of the way. Happy Birthday, Chloe! We are so glad that you’re in the Bobbledy club and thank you very much for sharing your birthday card with us.
And now for the card.
Oh my.
For the current version of our unfinished Bobbledy birthday card, kids are asked to show us what has the poor cat so scared. I mean what could be so terrifying?
After seeing Chloe’s drawing, can there be any doubt that the poor cat is justified in its fright?
This terrible spectre seems to be a larger-than-life, heart festooned, fuzzy pink butterfly named Bob Girl. Bob Girl seems to be thinking something? But what is it? To not know is maddening! Is Bob Girl friend or foe? Is Bob Girl wishing harm on the cat? Does a deep-seated malice underly her seemingly amiable gaze? If the cat is to be believed, Bob Girl is up to no good. But part of me just wants to give her a hug.
Please Chloe, tell us more of Bob Girl. Is there a story you can share? We don’t want to tax you when you’re trying so relax and celebrate your birthday, but your eager audience wants details!
