Hello, everyone! We hope you had a great Halloween! We had fun making costumes. Alden was a bunny rabbit. Robbi made some cardboard ears, and Alden colored in the middle with pink paint. She wore white stockings, one of my white t-shirts, and my white socks on her legs and arms.

As for her fluffy bunny tail? A knot tied in the back of my shirt. Robbi is pretty darn good at making costumes out of things that are just lying around the house.

Kato was a three-armed super spider with lots of eyes. Black sweatshirt, black t-shirt turned inside out to hide garish printed matter, purple Raven’s hat turned inside out, a bunch of googly eyes from multi-googly-eye-pack sold at Michaels, pair of yellow undies turned inside out (to hide blue monster printed thereon), extra arm made from strip of fabric sewed into a tube, stuffed with fluff, and attached to Kato’s real arm via string to create scary, lifelike “third arm motion.”

When it comes to my own costume, I go low impact. This year I dressed like a dad with a chicken hat on his head. We’re not sure what August was. This costume didn’t work. I’ll show you his real costume in a minute.

Robbi, ever creative (and economical), pulled some brown paper padding from a shipping crate and transformed into The Bag Lady!

Here are the kids on our neighbors’ porch, waiting for the other kids to show up. Instead of going trick or treating, we hand out candy.

Alden and Kato love seeing all the other kids’ costumes. And they love piling candy into other kids’ treat bags.

So here’s what we all dressed like for Halloween. What about you? Send us pictures of you in your Halloween costume, and we’ll post them on the blog this coming Saturday. We can’t wait to see what you were!
