Look, everyone! I am happy to say that we have received our first submission in the Gorillas in the Kitchen contest! Or,  I suppose I should say “Gurerillas in the Kitchen.”

In full disclosure, I feel compelled to tell you that although Holly is a Bobbledy Club member, she is not a kid. Not an actual kid, anyway. She has many kid-like characteristics, including imagination and freedom of spirit, but she is probably too old to actually enter this contest.Probably.

I’m showing you guys this cover not to discourage you, but to inspire you. Look how much fun you can have by filling the kitchen with your own characters! Or by changing the name to your own name!

If you want to, you can do what Holly did and use collage. She didn’t actually draw those heads. She took the heads from a photograph, cut them out, and glued them onto her cover.

You can glue buttons to your book, or cut holes in your pages, or make a book with no words.

You can do anything you want. There are no rules. Just make the book you want to make.

Thanks, Holly, for sharing your book and showing us how much fun it can be.
