When I first started going to Alaska, we didn’t have kids and I was a full-time fisherman. Now that Alden, Kato, and August come along for the trip, I spend my days looking after them while Robbi and her brother and sister do most of the actual fishing.
When the weather permits, they love spending time outside, even though they don’t get to dress in the usual summer clothes.
We take long walks on the beach. There is so much to look at and discover.
Fishing buoys, for example.
They even take the occasional “swim.”
Another favorite pastime is watching Mama fish.
For more tales of what we do on the beach, check out this post from the summer of 2011.
