This week, our musician friend Drew started sending us the finalized versions of his songs that we will be sending out as the very first Bobbledy album. There’s a song called “Mama Be Nice,” another called “I Don’t Wanna Brush My Teeth,” one called “Where Does it Go?” and another called “Dust Bunny Roll.” He wrote us a Bobbledy theme song and did a cover of an old folk song called “Groundhog” and also wrote a short ode to Mothra and Godzilla in spanish called “Mothra.”
To sum it up, there’s lots of fun stuff going on here.
But all this means that it is now time for me to buckle down and try to figure out what is going to be on the cover of the album. Will it be a picture of something from one of the songs? A dust bunny? A bunch of groundhogs? Godzilla? Some stinky dirty teeth??? I am thinking very hard but haven’t come up with anything yet.
Just for fun, I drew this picture of Godzilla and Mothra:
But I’m quite sure that’s not going on the album cover. Turns out, it’s pretty hard to come up with a drawing that is about a whole bunch of different songs. But it’s pretty fun to listen to a song and figure out what kind of drawing would go with it. And so….
Here’s this week’s drawing prompt: Draw a picture of your favorite song. What is the song about? Are there characters in the song? Is it a happy or sad song?
Please send your responses to Matthew by next Tuesday, April 16, so that we can post them for everyone to enjoy.
