Summer is over, at least as far as vacation is concerned. Whether or not you’ve headed back to school yet, you will soon, and if you’re anything like our kids, you’re counting the days until it happens.
So here’s a prompt for this week:
Draw a picture of your first day of school. What did you do? Or, if school hasn’t started yet, what are you looking forward to doing? Is it seeing old friends for the first time in months? Is it giving your teachers enormous burritos to show them how much you missed them over the summer? Is it feeding the classroom iguana Norris?
My classroom never had an iguana, and even if we had, it probably wouldn’t have been named Norris. Alas.
Get out your pens or your paints or your crayons or your markers and draw us a picture of school. That wonderful place where you learn stuff all day. Norris or not, school is great, and I’m jealous that you get to go when I have to work all day long.
Hrumph.
Send me your drawings by Monday afternoon so that I can post them here next Tuesday. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
