Those of you who are regular contributors to the Bobbledy drawing prompts might be wondering what happened to Spencer and Tyler, who have the distinction of having contributed to every single prompt so far!
I was a little bit sad when I went to bed last night without having received the reliable email from their mom Eunice, lamenting that the streak was over, trying my best not to take it personally. However, I woke up this morning to an email from Eunice with photos attached. Apparently, the family is in Taiwan for a month! And apparently, Spencer and Tyler aren’t going to let a 12-hour time difference get in the way of their drawing.
According to Eunice, both boys did their drawings outside in a children’s park near the family’s apartment in Taipei.
Here is Tyler’s drawing.
The blue guys in Tyler’s picture are sleeping. The purple guys are walking and jumping.
And here is Spencer’s drawing:
I’ve often wondered whether it was possible to draw stuff while sitting in a park in Taiwan.
Now I know.
Apparently, there’s more to this story. Apparenlty, Tyler and Spencer were a bit delayed in beginning their drawing prompts this week because of an incident at the playground. I’ll let their mom explain:
Spencer and Tyler were very much looking forward to drawing their weekly Bobbledy Books picture today… though it may have something to do with comparison to the activity they were engaged in immediately before: In a moment of neglectful parenting on my part, the boys whisked off their shoes, filled them with gravel and poured the contents with great glee down the slide, projecting little bits of white rock all over the previously pristine black top. It took them less than two minutes to make the mess. Two hours to clean it up. Making drawings afterwards was pure bliss in comparison. 🙂 If only all of your drawing prompts could be so set up for success!
Here is the “before” version of the playground.
And here is the “after.”
It seems that, even in Taiwan, kids have to clean up after themselves when they make a mess. Maybe especially in Taiwan?
In any case, thanks Spencer and Tyler for picking up all those rocks so that your mom would let you draw! And thanks for making the Bobbledy prompts international! And for keeping your streak alive!
We can’t wait to see what you guys come up with next week!
