Here’s a note we just received from Bobbledy Club member Kate, about why she signed up and what she’s planning on doing with her books.

Matthew and Robbi,

Hello!  I just wanted to say how excited I am for the debut of Bobbledy Books, and how fortuitous your timing is.  I have been a long time reader of the Idiots’Books blog , and bought a book or two there and have thoroughly enjoyed both. Naturally, hearing about it for so long has gotten me excited about the potential of Bobbledy Books, but I still couldn’t think of enough of an excuse (as a single adult living alone) to subscribe to children’s books (except that I love children’s books). Well, I’ve gotten in the habit over the years of volunteering with children’s literacy programs (I used to work in the children’s department at a library, now I do a reading buddies program for disadvantaged kids in the public schools), and it just so happens that today I got my email about my reading buddy for the year. I have the fortune of getting to work with the same kid I worked with last year. His name is Benjamin, and he loves trucks of all kinds, and superheros. Last year, we read your superhero flipbook several times over (he’d always want to read ‘just one story’ from it at the end of our meetings). While I was happy today to hear I could work with him a little more, I was a little sad to hear he’s repeating kindergarten this year.  It made me all the more energetic to help him finally get caught up on his reading skills, and had been thinking all day about what new books I should bring this year for him to practice with. Low and behold, Bobbledy books! So, I’m proud to be a day-one subscriber, and I’m looking forward to reading your books with Benjamin this year.

Congrats on the launch,

-Kate

We really want this blog to become an interactive forum for Club members and their families to talk about books, creativity, writing, drawing, you name it. We love stories like this one and encourage you all to let us know what you’re thinking so that we can share it with everyone.

Thanks, Kate. Here’s hoping Benjamin enjoys the books!
